Entry Two: Radiant Love Note
I’ve shared on the blog and in a few interviews that my introduction to the modern board game hobby was more of a slow burn. I’d collected Heroscape as a kid and played Carcassonne in High School with one of my dorm parents, but it wasn’t until I met my wife Mikayla where I started to really jump into the board game space. I would not be where I am today without her and getting to explore the hobby with her has been truly amazing.
When we first started dating we would often do park date where we would scoop a sandwich on the way and play rummy as we got to learn more about one another. Close to 2 months in to dating, I surprised her on one of the park dates with a new deck of cards for us to play with which I had written little notes on each card. This surprise turned into a tradition of us leaving notes/doodles on playing cards to surprise each other with. When it came to coming up with relic ideas for Everstone, I knew I wanted to commemorate this easter egg into the game.
